Make-up Musings: “Everyday” Make-up

I have a fashion tab in this blog but I realized I haven't really written anything for it before so I'll try it now. Once, when I joined the Dare to share Instagram challenge, I posted my thoughts or "advice" on make-up. I'm not an expert or anything but here's what I posted:   https://www.instagram.com/p/BVlUAr2AbSJ/?taken-by=mariekrystel_… Continue reading Make-up Musings: “Everyday” Make-up

18 Secrets To Being Undeniably Attractive | Reblog

I’m thin (skinny) tho. :3

Thought Catalog

1. Attractiveness has almost nothing to do with how you look physically, though your natural physical disposition does play a small role. It’s mostly, if not entirely, about how you put yourself together and how you behave.

2. The most basic but overlooked staple of being attractive is smelling good. Playing into the other senses, touch (having soft skin), smell (being clean), taste (use your imagination), is what ultimately makes someone undeniably appealing, and tends to be what people will focus on more than just visual.

3. There is no one universally appealing style. It’s about what cut of clothing and accessory will emphasize the best parts of you and your personality.

4. The more you are a kind and likable person, the more people will find you attractive. People are naturally quicker to associate good looks with a good person, and vice versa.

5. Your natural hair color will…

Couldn’t get over this one. ❤

Keira Lennox

It’s been over a month since my epic closet purge. Since weeding out and paring down, I’m beginning to appreciate the value of everyday basics. My favorite pieces are getting more mileage than ever, and I’m cozying up to the idea of a practical daily uniform.

My new style is alarmingly casual for a girl who once lived in dresses and high heels, but comfort is my new M.O.

Side French Braid With a Twist

side braid with a twist aphoto (11)

Anyway, I thought the hairstyle was super cute and totally practical for a day of work — whether you work in a restaurant or an office. It’s a more modern way to sport a French braid. It’s a lot less polygamy compound wife-looking than your standard, straight-down-the-middle braid. Here’s how I did it:

Step 1: Create a side part.

Step 2: Twist the front (bang) section of your hair — on the same side of your part — toward the back of your head. Secure with a bobby pin.

Step 3: Start regular French braiding the opposite side of your head. You’ll want to keep the braid closer to your hairline than the back of your head. Continuing braiding your hair…

XD

half-halo-braid

If you like the idea of a halo braid, but don’t have the time, hair length or know-how to create one, this half halo braid, is a great alternative.

The style is easy to create and has a very similar vibe as the full halo. I did a super quick version before work yesterday. It’s messier than I would have liked, but for an easy daytime style, it works. Here’s how to recreate it:

Step 1: Part your hair down the middle.

Step 2: Clip one side of your hair out of the way.

Step 3: French braid (read my go-to tips on how to French braid your own hair here) the opposite side of your head starting at ear height. As you braid, direct your hair toward the opposite side of your head. Secure the ends of your hair with a small clear…
