This is the second year I took glamming up for the holidays seriously. I’m no expert or anything but I tried my best. It would really be awesome to hear feedback from you!

For Christmas, my family had a salmon pink-olive green theme. Obviously, I didn’t follow it. First, because these were on sale. Then, this top has a very strong statement that comes with it – Girl Power. 2017 has been awesome for women all over but we all know we’ve got a long way to go. This shirt serves as a reminder for all of us, women, that we’re strong enough.
I do my make-up and hair because no one else will. The products I used were the same products I always had plus some new ones. Here they are:
Face prepping: Celeteque Dermoscience Alcohol-Free Hydration Toner, Banila Co. Dear Hydration Balancing Moisturizer, Banila Co. VV Vitalizing Eye Cream, Cute Press Plus Natural Young Coconut Lip Balm (this was a gift from Thailand), Benefit POREfessional Face Primer.
- TonyMoly Easy Touch Auto Eyebrow Pencil
- L’Oreal True Match Concealer
- Wet N Wild Photo Focus Correcting Palette
- Etude House Play Color Eyes #Wine Party Palette
- The Faceshop Miracle Finish CC Long-Lasting Cushion
- Happy Skin Glam Squad Contour and Color
- NYX Cosmetics Butter Lipstick
- Maybelline Eye Studio Hypersharp Power Black Liner
- Maybelline Volum’ Express Hypercurl Mascara
I tried to achieve a smokey-eye look. I used the 까망베르 브리 치즈 shade as base and blended it with a bit of 숙성된 오크통. Then I started applying the 우아한 보르드 와인 shade from the outer end of my lids, then on the crease and towards the inner part. I also applied a bit on my lower lid. I then topped my upper lid with the 블링한 드레스 코드 glittery shade. Anyway, I like the Etude House Wine Party Palette because I have a lot of shades to choose from – matte, to shimmery, to glittery.
I used the Tony Moly mocha brown 04 angled eyebrow pencil to shape my brows. The angle makes lining over the brows easier. And because I didn’t have enough make-up products, I used the L’Oreal True Match (light/medium W4-5 shade)concealer to enhance the contrast of my brows and my lids. This also helped cover the rest of my eyebrows because I didn’t have them threaded before Christmas just to make a bit of a statement. Also, since I didn’t have an eyeliner. I used this pencil to add a bit of brown on my lower lash line.
I also simply applied a moderately thin line of black liquid liner close to my lashes and mascara over curled lashes. The hypersharp liner works well in applying thin strokes over the eyelid. For the lashes, Maybelline is not a bad choice. Plus it’s cheap at 4$. It’s on sale in department stores this time of the year. To add more volume, I applied it twice.
I covered some blemishes with green, purple, and yellow corrector. I used green for a couple of red areas, and purple and yellow for the under-eye area. I blended these with the true match concealer and the cushion (V 203 Natural Beige). For the under eyes, I outlined the bags with the concealer and just pat along the darkest lines which is probably a shadow effect. I like the True Match concealer because it is so easy to apply in specific areas. I also didn’t hesitate to cover my lips with the cushion.
I then contoured using the Happy Skin Taupe Contour using the the Happy Skin angled brush. I applied and blended this on the hallows of the cheek, the jawline, sides of the forehead, and the nose line. Check out Happy Skin! They have the cutest cosmetic products especially for Disney and Sanrio lovers out there. Going back, for the nose line, I used a small blending brush from Nichido, which I use for a lot things like the eyeshadow and concealer blending. I then applied the rose shade blush in the same palette on my cheeks and blended with the contour.
I used the NYX Butter Lipstick (BLS 34 Scorching Sun). I’ve been bragging about how I like this product because it doesn’t dry up my lips and it doesn’t taste like candle (unlike a previous lippie I tried). Its smooth application doesn’t chap off my lips. Moreover, I can really control how I want the lippie to look like – if it’s super red or I just want a bit of color.
Finally, I used the illuminator in my Wet N Wild Photo Focus Palette to highlight the upper cheek bone, cupid’s bow, nose bridge, and center of the forehead. And don’t forget to apply a hydrating mist that also works as a setting spray. It makes the make-up look natural.
But I’m probably more proud of my New Year’s Eve look as I had practice during Christmas – and I have to start the year right by looking pretty. Don’t I? Kidding!

I used the same set of products except the lippies because the latter was a Christmas gift from my brother. And for someone who’s just starting with make-up it’s insane to buy various sets for different events. Moreover, I just chose a different shade eyeshadow for NYE but for the rest of the look, I used the same shades.
I used the 코르크 마개 shade as eyeshadow base, 어디계세요 내 반쪽 to create a fierce look, and then added the sparkly 로제 스파클링홀릭 shade over the eyelids and the inner eye area.
I tried to create a winged eyeliner shape and applied mascara on both upper and lower lashes for a bolder look. I had the NYX ELMUR makeup remover and eye primer just in case I need them to remove any errors.
Other than these, I did the same steps except that I think I got better at blending. I also do admit I have to learn more on how to temporarily get rid of these bags with make up. What products should I use?
Anyway, now onto the lips. I didn’t know I was gonna get this for Christmas but once I did, it was exciting to try it on. I don’t normally use matte lippies as I have dry lips. I once used a matte lipstick but meh, it wasn’t fun wearing it unlike this one. It’s light on the lips. I almost felt like nothing was on it. Props for my brother for choosing a nice shade – BLK Cosmetics Long-lasting Liquid Matte Lipstick (Dusty Rose or Sassy). Unfortunately, I haven’t researched the price but try checking it out! I know it’s not that expensive for such classy packaging! I’ll give this one a good rating!
That’s it! I’ve been trying to compose this for days but I hate how my mobile app is working now and I just got hold of this laptop I’m using to finish this.
*Happy Skin and BLK Cosmetics are brands from the Philippines while Etude House and TonyMoly are Korean. I used Hangul as is to write the eyeshadow shades just to avoid confusion.
Thank you for dropping by! ❤
